Henry Quenell
Henry Quenell lived at Horsham, in Sussex. On 30 January 1585/6 he married Beatrix Carter in the parish church: "Henry Quynnell maried to Beatrix Carter." Their daughter Ferris was baptised there on 17 April 1587, "Ferris the daughter of Henry Quynnell by Beatrix his wife." The clerks spelled the name Quynnell, Quinnell, Quennell and Quenell.
Horsham had two Henry Quenells at the same time. When the other married Elizabeth Reade in October 1598, the clerk wrote him down as "Henry Quynnell, thelder," the elder. This Henry was the younger. The 1945 Bushnell genealogy makes Ferris a granddaughter of a Henry Quenell, which fits a father and son of the same name.
Ferris married Francis Bushnell at Horsham on 13 May 1605. Her sons Edmund and Francis were baptised there in 1606 and 1608/9.
Beatrix was buried on 2 July 1610, in a year of plague at Horsham: "Betrice the wife of Henry Quennell." A "Henry Quenell, househoulder," the head of a household, was buried at Horsham on 18 May 1615. Which of the two Henrys that was is not known.
