Henry Quenell
Henry Quenell lived at Horsham, in Sussex, at the same time as a younger Henry Quenell. When he married Elizabeth Reade there on 15 October 1598, the clerk wrote "Henry Quynnell, thelder, maried to Elizabeth Reade." The elder of two men of the same name in a parish was usually the father.
The 1945 Bushnell genealogy makes Ferris Quenell, the daughter of Henry Quenell and Beatrix Carter, "gr-dau. of Henry" Quenell. That makes this Henry the younger Henry's father.
He married more than once. On 27 June 1585 "Henry Quinnell maried to Alce Blundin als. Topsaile," Alice Blundin, otherwise called Topsaile. Alice, "the wife of Henry Quynell," was buried in 1598, and that October he married Elizabeth Reade. These belong to the elder Henry, because the younger Henry's wife Beatrix lived until 1610. Both marriages came after the younger Henry was born, so his mother was an earlier wife whose name is not known.
The same genealogy carries the family back one more generation. It makes Ferris a "gt-gr-dau. of Henry Quenell," which gives this Henry a father of the same name. It gives no dates for him.
