Honor Trott
Honor was the wife of Robert Trott of South Trendle, in the parish of Pitminster, Somerset. Her maiden name is not known. Her children were baptised at Pitminster, among them Mary in February 1578 and Richard on 28 August 1584.
Her husband was buried in February 1599. In March 1600 the manor court admitted her son Richard, then about fifteen, to the family's house and half virgate at South Trendle. The grant was made "under condition that Honora (Honour) relict of said Robert (Trotte) have hold and possess all and every of the Premises during her widowhood." A relict was a widow.
She was still a Trott when she was buried at Pitminster on 17 September 1627: "Honour TROTT." Her son Richard had married Alice Gaylard in 1615, and their first child, baptised in March 1616, was named Honor. Two years after her burial her son's youngest daughter Susanna was baptised. The family later crossed to Connecticut and became Treats.
