Isaac Adams
Isaac Adams lived in Hancock County, Georgia, in the cotton country around Sparta. On 9 December 1811, "weak in body but of a sound and disposing mind," he made his will. He left all his estate, real and personal, to his wife for her lifetime. Out of it she was to "maintain, support and educate" his minor children, and she could lend property to any of the children as she saw fit.
After her death everything remaining, including whatever she had lent out, was to be "equally divided amongst all my Children except Lovey H. Langston." Lovey, already married to Moses Langston, was to receive a sum of money instead. He named his wife, Nancy B. Adams, as executrix and Richard H. Adams as executor. The witnesses were Oliver Hanner, W. Riley Marchman and Daniel L. Richardson. The will was copied into the Hancock County will book among papers of December 1811, so he probably died within weeks of signing it.
His daughter Lovey was widowed in Morgan County about 1821 and raised her children alone. Her granddaughter Rebecca Ann Langston married Thomas Roderick Wright and went to north Louisiana.
