Janice Dianne Robertson
Janice Dianne Robertson was born on 24 January 1957 in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana. She was the only child of Ross Howell Robertson, an ironworker from Hillsdale in St. Helena Parish, and Shirley Mae Pierce of Tangipahoa Parish, who was seventeen when Janice was born. The family's newspapers spelled her middle name Diane, and her mother's obituary calls her Diane.
She married Edward Eugene Hobbs, called Rocky, who had come south from Anna, Illinois. Their daughter Kim was born in 1978. Rocky died at Independence in July 1995, at 36, and was buried at Hillsdale among her father's family.
In 1994, when her mother died, she was living at Amite. By 2010 she was at Independence, and her father's obituary names her as his surviving daughter, Janice Diane Hobbs. Her parents' obituaries name two grandchildren, Jimmy Singleton Jr. and Kim Hobbs.
Janice died on 31 December 2011 at Hammond, in Tangipahoa Parish, at the age of 54, a year after her father. She was buried in Hillsdale Baptist Church Cemetery at Hillsdale, St. Helena Parish, near her parents, her husband and her Robertson grandparents.
