Their three daughters were all born on the home farm at Brandon: Nancy Agnes on 25 October 1854, Marion Wallace in January 1857 or 1858, and Inez Etta on 14 February 1859.

Jesse died on 11 October 1866 at Goshen, the next town to the east of Brandon in the hills of Addison County, aged 36. A memorial for him records that he took his own life. He is buried in Goshen Cemetery.

Julia took the three girls to Barnet in 1871 and married Alexander Roy there. Nancy married Denzil Mansfield Crane, and Marion and Inez married Alexander's sons Ezra and Moses Roy.
