Johann Georg Vött
Johann Georg Vött was born about 1775, the son of Jakob Vött. He lived at Kusterdingen, a village a few miles east of Tübingen in Württemberg.
On 22 November 1803 he married Anna Maria Decker at Kusterdingen. The clerk wrote "Johann Georg Voett", son of Jakob Voett, and "Anna Maria Dekerin", daughter of "Vrich Deker". Vrich is Ulrich, and Dekerin is the feminine form of Decker.
The children's baptisms give their mother only as Anna Maria. But he was the only Johann Georg Vött with a wife Anna Maria baptising children at Kusterdingen between 1805 and 1816, and every child came after the 1803 wedding. So the bride of 1803 is very probably their mother. Magdalena was born about 1805 and buried in 1814. Maria Barbara was born in 1807 and buried in January 1808. Johann Jakob was born about 1809 and Anna Maria on 20 December 1813. A second Maria Barbara was born on 30 August 1816. A son Johann Georg also belongs to the couple.
He was buried at Kusterdingen on 4 November 1817, aged forty-two. The clerk spelled the name "Vontt" and entered him as the husband of Anna Maria. His daughter Anna Maria was three, and Maria Barbara was a year old.
His children grew up and married in the village. Johann Jakob married on 7 February 1837 and was buried on 21 July 1860. Anna Maria married Jakob Grauer on 1 May 1837, and the marriage entry names her parents as Johann Georg Vött and Anna Maria. Johann Georg married Louise Dorothea Wandel on 12 June 1838 and was buried on 4 October 1877. Maria Barbara married on 7 May 1840.
