Johann Jakob Ebinger
Johann Jakob Ebinger was the son of Jakob Ebinger, of Kusterdingen, a village a few miles east of Tübingen in Württemberg. A compiled family tree gives his dates as 1778 to 1833.
On 7 November 1804 he married Anna Reiner at Kusterdingen. The clerk entered the bride as "Anna Reinerin", daughter of Michael Reiner, giving her surname the feminine ending that Württemberg clerks used for a woman.
His name was a common one in the village. At least four men called Johann Jakob Ebinger were fathering children at Kusterdingen between 1800 and 1820. The clerks told them apart by their wives, who were named Christina, Magdalena, Catharina and Anna. Another Johann Jakob, a son of Johannes Ebinger, had married an Anna Christ in 1788 and had a son Johann Martin about 1795. The children of this Johann Jakob are the ones whose mother is entered as "Reinin" or "Reiner".
There were seven of them. Johann Jakob was born in 1805 and buried in 1808. Eva Barbara came on 18 March 1806. Anna was born on 29 August 1808 and baptised two days later. Johann Adam was born in 1811 and died an infant. Catharina came on 12 February 1812, and a second Catharina on 7 February 1817. Eva, the youngest, was born in 1819 and buried in 1822.
His daughter Anna married Johann Martin Gutbrodt on 13 August 1834. The marriage entry names her parents as Johann Jakob Ebinger and Anna.
