John Heinlein
John Heinlein was born on 19 October 1818. He married Anna Margaret Ettmeyer, who was born on 10 August 1827, and they raised their family in Monroe County, Ohio, along the Ohio River.
Their grave memorials list ten children: John E. in 1847, Wilhelmina, called Mina, in 1851, Henry in 1856, George Jacob in 1858, John Adam in 1860, Louis D. in 1861, Margaretta, called Maggie, in 1863, William in 1865, Andrew Bartholemew, called Andy, in 1867, and Anna Laura in 1872. When their son Henry died in 1937, the Warren paper called him "the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Heinlein" and named his surviving sister Anna and brother Will, both then living at Ada.
A card photograph of John and Anna Margaret survives from the studio of Plummer's, 1138 Main Street. John sits in a carved chair with white hair and a long white chin beard, in a dark suit and vest. Anna Margaret stands beside him with her hand on his shoulder, in a dark buttoned dress with a white lace collar and cuffs, her hair parted in the middle and drawn back.
Anna Margaret died on 13 April 1889, aged 61. John died on 13 March 1897, aged 78. Both are buried in the Frobish Cemetery near Antioch, Monroe County.
