Freeman of Watertown in 1639 and one of the early settlers of Billerica, where he took his first grant in 1656 and probably moved that year. He was the father of the Mary Rogers who married John French.

The town gave him twenty three acres lying upon the township, his house lot included, bounded by common land and James Kidder on the north, by the great river on the west, by Jacob Brown on the south and by the Concord road on the east. That is the ground near where the town house now stands. He held another lot on the west side of Long Street, one in the Second Division near the Shawshin river, one out beyond content in what became Tewksbury, and meadow in the various divisions. His whole share was eight tenths of a single share, which puts him in the middle of the town rather than at the top of it.

He married Priscilla Dawes of Boston in 1640 and, after her death, the widow Elizabeth Brown of Boston in 1669. He died on 25 January 1685/6, aged seventy four.
