Lena E. Snow
Lena E. Snow was born in Macon County, Missouri, on 22 March 1870. She was the fourth of the six children of Francis Marion Snow and Abigail L. Forbes. Her family moved on to Nebraska and then to Norton County, Kansas, where the 1880 census finds her at ten in her father's house.
She went to the public schools at Norton until 1887. She was converted in 1880, under the pastorate of the Rev. E. H. Fleisher. On 16 October 1887 she was received into full connection in the Methodist Episcopal church, with L. O. Housel as preacher in charge. Three weeks later, on 9 November 1887, she married Edward Bennett of Norton.
They had two sons, Glenn Edward in 1893 and Chester Arthur in 1895. The family lived in a house on the hill at Norton. She sang in the church choir for many years.
Her daughter Lena Margaret was born in June 1901. Lena died on 24 June 1901, eight days later, at thirty one. Her parents, her brothers and sisters, her husband and her two little boys were at her bedside. She was buried in the cemetery at Norton at evening.
