Levi Kleber Westfall was born in July 1855 in Illinois. He had been married once and widowed by June 1900, when the census taker found him at forty-four living at Woodland Park, in Teller County, Colorado, in the mountains west of Colorado Springs, in the house of Caroline Welsh, a woman born in Norway in 1854. In the same house were her son Frank, twenty-five, born in Wisconsin, and Annie Welsh, eighteen, born in Iowa in February 1882.
Levi married Annie C. Welch at Colorado Springs. He was twenty-six years older than she was. Their son James Theodore was born in Colorado in 1901 and Orin Kellogg in Idaho on 31 May 1904. In 1910 the family was at Frontier, a coal camp in Uinta County, Wyoming. By January 1920 they were farming in Montezuma County, Colorado, and in 1930, Levi seventy-four and Annie forty-six, they were at Lewis with Orin still at home.
He died at Lewis in 1937, aged eighty-one or eighty-two, and was buried at the Sunnyside Cemetery there under a pink granite stone carved with a band of flowers and the words He was faithful.
