They made their home in Livingston Parish, in the pine country east of Baton Rouge. In 1900 the family was living at Livingston, with daughters Rena, Ella, Leila, Hettie and Zella. By 1910 they were in Police Jury Ward 1 of the parish. Lorenzo was 41, Mary J. 40, and at home were Rena, 18, Lela, 15, Mattie, 8, Addie, 6, Connie, 4, and a baby, Bonnie. Mary's widowed mother, Mary Palmer, 76 and born in Mississippi, was living with them.
Every child the censuses name in his house was a girl, and a tenth daughter, Christine, came later. Seven of the sisters were still living in 1980, when the obituary of Lela, by then Mrs. Arch Robertson, listed the other six by their married names around Baton Rouge, Denham Springs and St. Bernard.
