Maria Anna Ilg
Maria Anna Ilg was born at Oberflacht on 1 July 1742 and baptised that day in the parish church at Seitingen. The priest wrote her into the book as "Maria Anna, filia Benedicti Ilg Molitoris et Gertrudis Münckhin": daughter of Benedict Ilg, miller, and Gertrud Münk. Her godparents were "honestus juvenis Joannes Melcher et Maria Anna Spitznaglin", a respectable young unmarried man and a woman of the Spitznagel family, all of Oberflacht.
Her father ran the village mill. Molitor is Latin for miller, and her brother's family page gives him in German as Bürger und Müller zu Oberflacht. That brother, Benedict, was born in May 1751 and became a shoemaker.
On 2 June 1761, a month before her nineteenth birthday, she married Michael Schrenk, a farmer of Oberflacht and the son of the village tailor. Their household is entered at house number 44. She bore ten children between October 1762 and March 1785, from the age of twenty to the age of forty-two. Six of them are marked dead on the family page. Four of them grew up and married: Johann Baptist, Elisabeth, Katharina and Franziska.
Her son Johann Baptist married Barbara Lehmann of Seitingen in 1802. He died in October 1806 at forty, and Barbara died that December. They left a daughter, Maria Anna, who was three.
Michael died on 4 November 1810. Maria Anna died fifteen days later, on 19 November, at sixty-eight. Her death was entered in two places. The family page gives the date. Someone also went back to the baptism book and wrote "+ 19. 9b. 1810" in the margin beside the entry made for her in 1742. 9b. is November.
