Maria Anna Lehmann
Maria Anna Lehmann was baptised at Seitingen, in the Tuttlingen country of Württemberg, on 16 January 1738. Her father, Anton Lehman, was the sacristan of the parish church. Her mother was Lutgard Kraus. She was one of six children baptised to the couple between 1732 and 1742.
On 23 January 1759, a week after her twenty-first birthday, she married Lukas Schrenk of Oberflacht in the parish church at Seitingen. The priest entered her as "pudica Virgo Maria Anna Lehmännin filia aeditui", a chaste maiden, the sacristan's daughter. Lukas was a widower, probably in his mid forties. His first wife, Maria Merz, had left him two sons and a daughter. The elder son, Michael, was fourteen months older than his new stepmother. The witnesses were Joannes Schrenck and her own father, entered only by his office: "aedituo", the sacristan.
Her son Joseph was born at Oberflacht on 5 December 1764. A daughter, Anna Maria, grew up and married Joseph Ilg. Her last child, Maria Ursula, was baptised in October 1780, when she was forty-two, and died in July 1782, not quite two.
Lukas died in the autumn of 1785 and was buried on 8 October. In January 1786 Joseph married Anna Maria Münk. She lived as a widow for twenty-five years.
She died on 10 November 1810 and was buried three days later. Her stepson Michael had died six days before her, and his wife Maria Anna Ilg died nine days after. The clerk who buried her gave her age as seventy-two and named her husband. Then he named her own father and mother: Anton Lehman and Lutgard Kraus. One burial line, four people.
