Mary Alice Keefover married J. Coleman Glasscock at Marion County on 4 May 1884. Their son Hugh was born on 14 July 1888.
She died on 24 June 1893 in Monongalia County, aged thirty two, and her return gives her birth as 1861 in Monongalia. She left a five year old son.
Her husband had married again by about 1895, and the 1900 census has the second wife in the house with her son. Her son's own death record, filed in 1964, seventy one years after she died, names her: Hugh W. Glasscock senior, parents Mary Alice Keefover and Jonathon Coleman Glasscock.
In the whole of West Virginia in 1880 there were three Keefover girls born between 1857 and 1865, and only one of them was a Mary. She is at home in Paw Paw District, Marion County, nineteen years old, single, listed as the daughter of James P. Keefover and Malinda, four years before her wedding in the same county. Her mother's 1900 census line says eleven children born and six living, and Mary Alice is one of the five.
