She bore at least seven children to Charles. Mary Louise Leona was born at Hanover in 1911 and died at Duxbury in August 1913, aged two. Mary Dora was born at Hanover on 4 July 1913. Lawrence, Rose Alma and Mary Avon followed at Pembroke, and a baby died there in August 1921.
In January 1920 she was 36 and keeping a rented house at Pembroke for her husband, her children and her elderly parents. Her daughter Dora later married Dora's first cousin, Joseph Arthur Obin, the son of Mary Louise's brother Edward.
