Mary Richardson

d. 1670
Died 1670
Children include Sarah

Mary was the wife of Thomas Richardson, the youngest of the three Richardson brothers from Westmill in Hertfordshire. She joined the church at Charlestown, Massachusetts, on 21 February 1635/6, two years before her husband did.

Her first two children were baptized at Charlestown: Mary in November 1638 and Sarah in November 1640. That autumn her husband was chosen one of seven commissioners to start the settlement of Woburn, and the family moved there. Five more children were born at Woburn between 1643 and January 1650/1.

Her husband died on 28 August 1651. He left no will, and she was left with seven children, the youngest eight months old. In May 1655 her eldest daughter Mary married John Baldwin of Billerica.

On 26 October 1655 she married Michael Bacon, one of Woburn's first inhabitants. His first wife, also named Mary, had died two months earlier. On 22 March 1660 her daughter Sarah married his only son, Michael.

She died on 19 May 1670. Six months later her widower married a third Mary, the widow Mary Noyes of Sudbury. Her own maiden name is not known.
