Nathan Fiske
Nathan Fiske was born in England about 1615, a son of Nathaniel Fiske of Weybread, Suffolk, and Dorothy Symonds. He came to New England and was settled at Watertown, on the Charles River above Boston, by 1642.
He was made a freeman of the Massachusetts Bay Colony on 10 May 1643. Only freemen could vote, and they had to be church members. In 1644 he held one lot of nine acres, his homestall, in the Town Plot on the north side of the Sudbury road.
He married Susanna, whose maiden name is not known. Their children were Nathan, born on 17 October 1642; John, on 25 August 1647; David, on 29 April 1650; Nathaniel, on 12 July 1653; and Sarah, in 1656. Sarah married Abraham Gale in 1673.
Nathan's sister Martha also settled at Watertown, as the wife of Martin Underwood, a weaver. Martin made his will in 1663 and left the use of his estate to his widow and then the whole of it to his nephew Nathan Fiske Jr. After Martin's death in 1672, Martha went to live with her brother.
In 1673 Nathan served as a selectman of Watertown. He made his will on 19 June 1676 and died two days later, on 21 June. His sister Martha testified that before he died he "was very crazy in his memory." Susanna outlived him.
