Nora Giblin
Nora Giblin was born on 29 November 1881 at Norton, Massachusetts, the daughter of William Giblin and Mary Foster. In June 1900 she was living at Attleboro in her father's house, with her brother Francis and her sisters Ellen and Jenette; the census taker wrote her birth as October 1879, two years off.
On 31 January 1901, at Norton, she married Edward Mason Thurber of Attleboro, twenty-three, the record naming her parents William Giblin and Mary Foster. Her children, all born at Attleboro, were Sarah Gertrude in 1903, Ruth Ellen in 1907, Howard Mason, William Edward, and Mildred Louise on 11 March 1910.
She died at Attleboro on 16 October 1918, at thirty-six, in the weeks when the influenza of 1918 was at its worst in the Massachusetts mill towns; her record does not give the cause. She left five children, the youngest eight. She was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, Attleboro, lot 820, where no marker was ever set. Her husband was buried beside her ten years later.
