Priscilla Franklin
Priscilla Franklin was born about 1728, by her memorial, which gives her maiden name as Rogers; a lineage application of the Sons of the American Revolution writes it Rogers with a question mark. She married Thomas Franklin and raised five children in the South Carolina upcountry: John, born about 1763, Thomas Baker, born about 1765, and the daughters Frances, Mary and Elizabeth.
Her husband died in 1789. His will left her the household furniture, the hogs and fowls, and an enslaved woman named Moggs, and named her executor with their son Thomas Baker Franklin. In 1800 her son John's household in Chester County included a woman over forty-five, probably Priscilla.
Her memorial gives her death as 1 January 1802, in Chester County. A lineage application gives about 1807. She is buried in the Franklin family cemetery there. Her granddaughter Priscilla, John's daughter, carried her name to Louisiana as the wife of James Huey Jr.
