Richard Kimball
Richard Kimball was of the parish of Rattlesden, in Suffolk, England. He married Ursula Scott, a daughter of Henry Scott of Rattlesden. Their son Henry was baptised there in 1615. The parish register reads: "Henry Kemball ye sonne of Richard and Vrsula his wife baptized 1615 12 of August."
In 1634 he came to New England in the ship Elizabeth with his family. Thomas Scott, whom the Kimball family history calls his brother-in-law, came on the same voyage. So did John and Mary Wyatt, whose daughter Mary later married his son Henry.
The family settled first at Watertown, Massachusetts, where his daughter Sarah was born in 1635. They then moved to Ipswich, where Benjamin was born in 1637 and Caleb in 1639. In 1651 his son-in-law Joseph Fowler, husband of his daughter Martha, sold him forty acres of land.
He made his will on 5 March 1674/5. He died at Ipswich on 22 June 1675, "aged more than eighty years". The will was proved on 28 September 1675. His inventory, the valuation of everything he owned, came to £737 3s. 6d. His wife Ursula "did not long survive him, but died the succeeding spring, March 1, 1676."
His daughter Sarah married Edward Allen of Ipswich in 1658 and had eleven children.
