Robert Bird
Robert Bird lived at Towcester, a market town in Northamptonshire. He married a woman named Amy. Their daughter Dorothy was baptised at Towcester on 25 May 1588.
On 20 February 1610/11 a marriage licence was issued at Peterborough to "Thomas Lord of Towcester" to marry "Dorothy, daughter of Robert Bird of Towcester". A licence let a couple marry without the banns being read on three Sundays. They married at Towcester three days later, on 23 February.
He made his will on 18 July 1622. He named his wife Amy, his "daughter Lord, wife of Thomas Lord of Towcester," and his daughter Perris, widow of George Tighte. He was buried at Towcester four days later, on 22 July 1622. Amy was buried there on 19 April 1625.
Dorothy and Thomas Lord had eight children baptised at Towcester between 1612 and 1629. In April 1635 they sailed from London in the Elizabeth and Ann, and the next year they went with Hooker's company to found Hartford in Connecticut. Dorothy lived there until 1675.
