Stella Lee Miller was born in Tennessee on 19 January 1884. She married William Edward Jeralds, and in 1910 they were in Polk County, Tennessee, with their daughter Hattie.
She bore six children: Hattie, Jack, Maude, Mildred, Willie Lee and Edward. By 1921 the family had moved to Monroe, North Carolina, and there on 31 March 1921 William was electrocuted in an accident, when Edward was ten months old. Stella gave the particulars for his death certificate and had him buried at Englewood on 3 April. In the census of 1930 she was forty six, widowed, and heading her own house at Englewood in McMinn County with Jack, nineteen, Maude, seventeen, Mildred, fifteen, Willie Lee, eleven, and Edward, nine. In January 1931 Maude married William Taft Daugherty of Englewood, and the couple soon went west to California.
Stella was still in McMinn County in 1940 and 1950. She died on 21 August 1969, aged eighty five, and was buried beside William in Cochran Cemetery in McMinn County. Their stone carries the nickname she went by, Lee, and his, Bill. Her obituary named her children as Mildred Rapier, Willie Lee Borden, Hattie Brooks, Maude Daugherty, Jack Jeralds and Ed Jeralds.
