Thomas Browning was admitted a freeman of Massachusetts at Salem on 17 April 1637, was of Topsfield by 1661, and died in February 1671, aged 83. He left no sons and five daughters, two of whom married into the Towne and Perkins families of Topsfield.

Mary, baptized at Salem on 7 January 1638, married Edmund Towne, the son of the emigrant William. Deborah married John Perkins on 28 November 1666, the eldest child of Deacon Thomas Perkins and Phebe Gould, and was left a widow eighteen months later when he died on 19 May 1668, about a year after their only child was born. She applied to the court and the record grants administration of the estate of John Perkins, deceased, to his widow Deborah Perkins. The inventory came to forty eight pounds fifteen shillings, and on 30 June 1668 she was given the guardianship of her son.

His wife, his birthplace, his English parish and his occupation are not known.
