Born on 11 March 1848. He grew up in Cherokee County, Georgia, in the house of John and Rachel Morris, and he did not grow up as a Morris. Both the 1850 and the 1860 censuses put him in that household under a surname of his own, read by the index as Kimsey the first time and Kinsey the second, alongside other children who were not Morrises either. He was two years old on the first page and eleven on the second.

Some time between that second page and his wedding he became Warren K. Morris, and he stayed Warren K. Morris. On 27 August 1869, aged twenty one, he married Sarah Malinda Robinett. In the 1870 census he is a married man of twenty two at Hickory Flat with a nineteen year old wife and nobody else in the house yet.

Ten years later the house was full. The 1880 census of District 1279 holds William, Julia, John, Charlie and Annie, born in a run between 1873 and 1878. Annie, the youngest of the five, was two years old, and seven doors up the same militia district the Brookshires had a boy called Henry who was seven. The two of them married in 1896.

By 1900 the family was in District 817 of the same county and the census taker recorded an entirely different set of children: Perry L., Bernice K., Mary A., Thadius P., Leroy, Lois L. and Samuel M., born between 1882 and 1896. The five from the 1880 page had all grown and gone. Between the two lists there are twelve children, and the eldest was twenty three years older than the youngest.

He died on 23 February 1907, aged fifty eight, and was buried at Hickory Flat, in the corner of the county he had married into nearly forty years before. Malinda outlived him by eighteen years and lies there too.
