Annie Rebecca Morris
Born on 6 July 1878 in Georgia, a Morris before she married. She married Henry Osburn Brookshire, born 7 June 1873 in Cherokee County, and bore at least eight children: Albert Delonia in April 1898, Janie Oneida in April 1900, then Jessie, Howard, Joel, Loyd, Lillian and Katie Mae.
She can be followed from militia district 851 of Cobb County in 1900, to Wild Cat in Cherokee County in 1910, to another Cherokee County district in 1920, and at last to Atlanta, where the censuses of 1940 and 1950 find her still keeping house with her husband. In 1930 she and four of her children were living in the Atlanta household of her eldest son Albert, in the same house as her daughter Janie Oneida and Janie's husband and their five children.
Her husband died in March 1951. She lived another twenty two years, long enough to bury a daughter: Janie Oneida died in February 1972 and her mother followed on 30 July 1973, twenty four days past her ninety fifth birthday. She was buried at Atlanta with her husband.
