Asa Fisk
Asa Fisk was born at Sherborn, Massachusetts, on 27 February 1708, the son of Nathaniel and Hannah Fisk. His father had moved to Sherborn from Watertown, and his mother, Hannah Adams, died when Asa was ten. His father died the next year, in August 1719.
On 30 January 1734-5 he married Lois Leland, daughter of Timothy Leland, at Holliston, the town set off from Sherborn in 1724. Their children were all entered in the Holliston records: Lydia, born 12 November 1738; Huldah in March 1740-1; Abel on 14 March 1743-4; Asa on 3 September 1746; Aaron on 20 March 1748-9; Lois on 6 May 1751; and Abner on 27 March 1754.
Asa made his will on 6 November 1770, "being very weak in body." In it he is styled gentleman, a title for a man of some standing in the town. He left his wife Lois one third of his estate. The will was proved on 8 January 1781.
Lois made her own will on 3 March 1775. It was proved in 1801. Their daughter Lydia married a Burbank of Holliston, Huldah married Caleb Claflin of Hopkinton, and Lois married Amariah Marsh of Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Abner settled at Lee, in Oneida County, New York.
