Nathaniel Fiske
Nathaniel Fiske was born at Watertown, Massachusetts, on 9 June 1678, the eldest child of Nathaniel Fiske, a weaver, and Mary Warren. He grew up at Watertown and, when he was nearly of age, moved to Sherborn, a young farming town on the Charles River twenty miles to the southwest.
At Sherborn, on 16 January 1705-6, he married Hannah Adams. His brother John married Lydia Adams there in July 1706. Nathaniel stayed at Sherborn for the rest of his life and took a leading part in its church and town affairs.
Nathaniel and Hannah had six children: Nathaniel, born 11 November 1706; Asa, born 27 February 1708; Hannah in 1710; Moses on 29 January 1713; Lydia in 1715, who died at two; and a second Lydia in October 1718. A Nathaniel Fiske died at Lake George on 5 October 1756, during the French and Indian War, and he may have been this eldest son.
Hannah died on 21 July 1718. Nathaniel died a year later, on 24 August 1719, aged 41, leaving six children, the eldest twelve. His father outlived him by sixteen years, and in his will of 1735 left a share to "the children of my son Nathaniel deceased."
Hannah, the elder daughter, married Jonathan Carver of Natick in 1732. Moses moved to Needham and Natick, where he was a selectman and a deputy to the General Court.
