Bridget Allgar
Bridget Allgar was baptised at Shalford in Essex on 11 March 1562, a daughter of William Allgar. Her elder sister Mary had been baptised there in 1560. Two brothers named John followed, the first in 1565, who died at four months, and the second in 1567.
She married Robert White of Messing at Shalford church on 24 June 1585, in the parish where she had been baptised. Her sister Mary had married Ralfe Bette there three years before. Her father was most probably the William Allgar the elder who was buried at Shalford on 2 August 1575.
Her children were baptised at Shalford: Sara in 1585, Nathaniel on the last day of April 1587, Mary on 24 August 1590, Elizabeth in 1591, Bridget on 18 August 1594, and Anne on 13 July 1600.
Two of her daughters were married at Shalford. Mary married Joseph Loomis of Braintree there on 30 June 1614, and later went with him to Windsor in Connecticut. Elizabeth married William Goodwyn of Bocking on 7 November 1616. The clerk called him "singleman" and her "singlewoman."
Her husband's will of 27 May 1617 names "my wife Bridgett White" and makes her consent, with that of two of her sons-in-law, a condition of her daughter Bridget's marriage portion.
