Mary White
Mary White was baptised on 24 August 1590. She was a daughter of Robert White, a yeoman of Messing in Essex, and his wife Bridget Allgar, who had married at Shalford in 1585.
On 30 June 1614 she married Joseph Loomis, a woollen draper of Braintree, at Shalford church. The clerk wrote her as "Marye whight." Her sisters married into the same corner of Essex. Elizabeth married William Goodinge of Bocking, the next parish to Braintree, and Sarah married a Bowtell.
Her father made his will on 27 May 1617. He left her "one pewter platter," and named her husband among the men whose consent her younger sister Bridget needed to marry.
She bore at least eight children who lived to share their father's estate. Among them was John, born in 1622. In April 1638, when she was about forty seven, the family sailed from London in the Susan and Ellen and landed at Boston in July. They settled at Windsor on the Connecticut River.
She died at Windsor on 23 August 1652. Her husband outlived her by six years.
