Eleanor Lena Bryant

Eleanor Lena Bryant was born on 7 December 1921 in Washington State, a daughter of Milton Jasper Bryant and Lena Margaret Bennett. Her father was a salesman and the family moved often. Her brother Milton was born in Louisiana, her sisters Joyce in Kansas and Barbara in Texas, and Donna Jean in Colorado, all inside eleven years.

She grew up in Denver. The census of 1930 found her there at eight, with her father selling used cars, and the family was still in Denver in 1935. Her older brother Milton died there in 1938, at seventeen. By April 1940 the family had moved to Ward 7 of Beauregard Parish, Louisiana, where she was eighteen and still in school.

She married Benjamin Fillmore Patterson. In September 1945 she was living with him at Route 1, Box 220, Fairbanks, in Harris County, Texas, named on his draft card as "Mrs. Eleanor Lena Patterson, Wife." Their daughter Patricia was born in Louisiana about 1944 and their son Michael in Texas in 1946.

In April 1950 she was twenty-eight and working as a bookkeeper for a life insurance company. Benjamin was the service manager of an auto repair shop. Her parents were living in the same census district of Harris County. She died in Houston on 30 August 2010 and is buried beside him.
