About 1894 he married Anna Esther Haight, called Annie, a daughter of George Benjamin Haight and Mary Melissa Nulph. The two were kin: his grandfather Joel Albert Haight and her grandfather Ambrose Haight were brothers, sons of the Benjamin Haight who had brought the family from Westchester County, New York, to the Clarion country. Their first child, Benjamin Whitefield, was born in McKean County in December 1893. In 1900 the family was in Barnett Township, Forest County, Harry a laborer of 29 with Annie and three children, Clara, Benny and Mable. In 1910 at Barnett there were seven: Clara, Benjamin, Mabel, Julia, Ira, Clinton and Mary. A last son, Harry F., was born in 1916 and died at 22.
When his mother died at Bradford in 1925 the newspaper placed him at Endeavor, the Wheeler and Dusenbury lumber town on the Allegheny. In 1930 and 1940 he and Annie were at Barnett and then at Heath Township in Jefferson County with their son Ira. In April 1950, aged 80, he was still head of a house in Heath Township with Annie and two grandsons, Claude and Raymond. Harry Haight died on 23 October 1951 and is buried in Edeburn Hill Cemetery, Jefferson County, under a granite stone shared with Annie: HAIGHT, Harry R. 1870-1951, Anna E. 1878-1953.
