Lillian B. Wylie
Lillian B. Wylie was born on 7 March 1897 in Canton, Stark County, Ohio. Her parents were James Thompson Wylie (1861 to 1938) and Agnes Batchelor (1867 to 1956). Her mother's family, the Batchelors, were in Saginaw, Michigan, by the 1880s, and the Wylies settled there too.
On 12 October 1921, at twenty four, she married Harold L. McLurg in Saginaw. He was a Canadian-born man raised in Bay City by his uncle, a physician. Their daughters were Marcia, born 14 June 1924, and Marilyn, born 2 March 1929.
In 1940 Lillian was forty three, living with Harold and the two girls in the eighteenth ward of Saginaw. In 1950 she and Harold were living alone in Saginaw. Her elder daughter Marcia had married Lee Hart Pinnell, and her grandson Thomas L. Pinnell was born that year.
Lillian was widowed in January 1969. She died in Saginaw on 26 November 1975, aged 78. She is buried beside Harold at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Bay City, Michigan. Her parents lie by a columned family monument marked WYLIE and BATCHELOR at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Saginaw.
