Luther Thomas Cryer
Luther Thomas Cryer was born on 3 January 1887 at Floresville in Wilson County, Texas. He was one of the sons of Arthur Rexes Cryer and Nancy Emaline Gilley. When his father died near Holland in 1938, the obituary named him among seven sons as "L. T." His brothers Walter Wade, Willie Rufus and Quinton Lee Cryer all married daughters of Joseph Allen Reaves, a Milam County farmer and Church of Christ preacher, and so did Luther.
His wife was Stella Lee Reaves, born in Milam County in 1892. When her mother died in 1931, she was named among the survivors as "Mrs L T Cryer." Their children were Irene Elizabeth, Bradford Allen, born in January 1910, Edna Lillian, Wade Luther, Nelta Mae and Bennie Truman.
In April 1950 L. T. Cryer, 63, was living on a small place at San Angelo with Stella, 57, and their youngest son, Bennie, 18. Their son Jerry's family lived in the same town. Luther died at San Angelo on 15 September 1970, aged 83. He was brought back to Milam County and buried at Friendship Cemetery near Davilla, under a stone shared with Stella.
