In the spring of 1940 she was two years old and living with her parents in the Cobden precinct, with an older sister Norma and a brother Louis. Ten years later, in April 1950, the family was still at Cobden: Lester, Helen, Lewis, Norma and Neva, then twelve.
She married Charles R. Hobbs, who was seven years older. Their son Edward Eugene Hobbs was born on 6 August 1958 at Anna, the county seat a few miles south of Cobden. Edward, called Rocky, moved south to Louisiana as a young man, married Janice Dianne Robertson there and died at Independence, Louisiana, in 1995.
Neva's father died in 1952, when she was fourteen, and her husband Charles in 1982. Neva Deleen Davis Hobbs died on 1 March 1989, aged 51. She was buried in Cobden Cemetery, block 10, lot 47, grave 3. Her mother Helen outlived her by two years.
