Ralph Haburne
Ralph Haburne, christened at Cottingham in the East Riding of Yorkshire on 1 January 1569/70 as Radulphus habron filius Johannis, and buried in the same parish on 17 April 1633. Everything recorded of him happened there.
He married on 2 December 1593, the entry reading Radulphus Habrone & Matilda Jecles. Five children by her were christened at Cottingham: George in December 1594, Mark in October 1597, Anna in April 1600, Jane in October 1602 and Isabella in October 1605. It was Jane who married Thomas Grant in September 1624 and whose daughter Hannah crossed to Massachusetts and married Edward Hazen at Rowley.
The early 1620s went badly. His son George was buried on 16 February 1622/3 and George's infant daughter Anna the day after, on the 17th, and his own wife followed on 5 May 1623. He married again on 4 July 1625, Frances Metcalfe, and had two more children, George in 1626 and Elizabeth in 1628. He himself was buried in April 1633. An Anna christened in 1635 and buried the next year is also given to him, though her christening falls two years after his burial.
He was a son of the John Haburne who was burying and christening children in that parish from the 1560s and who was buried there in October 1597.
