Anna Augusta Everett was born on 17 January 1884, a daughter of Charles Henry Everett and Clarissa Reed, called Clara. Her marriage affidavit gives her birthplace as Green Springs, Ohio, a village on the Sandusky County line; her death certificate gives Sandusky. Her parents were both natives of the country around Clyde and Sandusky. Her brothers and sisters included Stephen, William, Leon, Louis and Leyona.

Her father died on 24 December 1900, the day before Christmas, aged forty, when Anna was sixteen. Eighteen months later, on 3 June 1902, she married Edward J. Heiberger of Sandusky. She was eighteen and he was twenty, young enough that his father had to sign his consent on the license. The Rev. Claude Kelly, pastor of the First Baptist Church, married them.

Anna and Edward raised seven sons and two daughters in Sandusky: Myron, Maynard, Edward, Willard, Wilson, Kenneth and Melvin, and two girls, among them Mildred and Clara Catherine. In 1930 she was in Sandusky with Edward and the children, and in 1940 in the Portland Township part of the city with four of the boys. Edward's widowed mother lived out her last years in their house at 708 Tyler Street. Anna belonged to Calvary Episcopal Church.

She died unexpectedly at home at 708 Tyler Street on the morning of Monday, 19 January 1948, sixty four years and one day old. The death certificate gives a pulmonary infarction, a blood clot in the lung, lasting half an hour, and the coroner signed it. Her obituary listed her husband, her two daughters, Mrs. Clyde Mumaugh of Toledo and Mrs. Elwood B. Boger of Sandusky, her seven sons, twenty two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three brothers, William, Leon and Louis Everett of Sandusky, and two sisters, Mrs. Ralph David of Gloucester, New Jersey, and Mrs. Harry Hunter of Sandusky. The Rev. Ray Evans held her service at the Charles J. Andres Sons' Funeral Home on 21 January, and she was buried in Oakland Cemetery. Edward was laid beside her in 1957.
