Dea. Ebenezer Fiske
Ebenezer Fiske was born at Wenham, Massachusetts, on 22 March 1679. The town record enters him as "Ebenezer, s. William, 22:1m: 1679." He was the sixth son of Deacon William Fiske and Sarah Kilham. An older brother of the same name had been born in 1677 and died the next year.
On 24 May 1710 he married Elizabeth Fuller of Salem at Beverly. She was the daughter of Jacob Fuller of Salem. Their nine children were Sarah in 1711, Jonathan in 1713, Ebenezer in 1716, Elizabeth in 1718, Jacob in 1721, Mary in 1723, William in 1726, Mercy in 1728 and Lucy in 1732. Elizabeth died on 25 August 1732, a few months after Lucy was born. On 1 December 1733 he married Mrs. Martha Kimball. She died on 28 March 1764.
He was the executor of his father's will and his principal heir. The Fiske genealogy calls him "a substantial farmer in Wenham" who was "frequently honored by his townsmen by election to various local offices," but otherwise lived quietly. He was elected a deacon of the Wenham church on 16 May 1739 and resigned "by reason of age" in 1758.
On 13 December 1720 he bought from Thomas Kimball of Marblehead, a tailor, and his wife Hannah, for one hundred pounds, a dwelling house, barn and ten acres in Wenham, with two acres of meadow and two rights in the great swamp. His son Jonathan died unmarried on 22 September 1737, in his twenty-fourth year. His eldest daughter Sarah, who had married Samuel Moulton of Ipswich, also died before him.
He made his will on 18 July 1764. He left his son William the homestead and the family Bible and named him executor. He also named his sons Ebenezer and Jacob, his daughters Elizabeth Bradstreet, Mary Law, Mercy Perkins and Lucy White, and a granddaughter Sarah, the daughter of his dead daughter Sarah. He died on 30 September 1771, aged ninety-three. The will was proved on 28 October 1771.
