Lillian Adella Farley
Lillian Adella Conklin was born on 15 December 1893 in Kings Park, Suffolk County, New York. Her memorial calls her the seventh child of Warren William Conklin (1852-1930) and Ida Augusta "Gussie" Darling Conklin (1860-1948). Her siblings included Wilford, Ivison, Jesse, Florence, Mary Elizabeth, Ida Mae and Martha.
She married Patrick Joseph Farley on 21 April 1914. Their children were Jane Elizabeth Farley (1915), Lillian Rose Farley Surles (1916), Mary Cecelia Farley Murphy (1918), Christine Patricia Farley Glowth (1921) and Nicholas W. Farley (1925). Her son's middle name, Warren, matches her father's name.
Lillian worked at Kings Park State Hospital, the large state psychiatric hospital in her hometown. Her memorial says she worked in the canning room, as an attendant and in hydrotherapy. Hydrotherapy was a treatment of the time that used baths and wet packs to calm patients.
She died in Kings Park on 6 April 1933, aged 39. Her memorial notes she had lived in her own new home for only one month. She is buried in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Smithtown.
